With a vision to reduce global warming, Free The Seed innovate an eco-friendly business that would revolutionise the way we live.
With hard work, determination and perseverance, Free The Seed had grown from leaps and bound to innovate novelty technologies in Cellulosic Chemistry and Biotechnology Engineering using Agricultural Waste biomass materials to manufacture Biodegradable, Industrial Compostable and Home Compostable products as an viable alternative to Single Use Plastics packaging products.
Today, with multiple awards and expansive plans to grow the business in the USA, UK, Europe and greater Asia, Free The Seed is set to become the industry leader in biodegradable products and a game-changer in the fight against climate change.

What We Do
The US$4 million production factory was constructed on a 10-acre site in Malaysia, the first phase of the business of which began full production in 2017, subsequent to securing a 10-year supply agreement for rice straw biomass with the Kedah state farmers’ associations.
Addressing the 2.5 million tonnes of paddy straw burnt by local farmers every year as agriculture waste, we have plans to grow our factory line ten-fold and offer farmers a substantial supplement to their income as part of our initiative.

Ramaness Parasuraman
Founder, Inventor & CEO
Mr. Ramaness, a passionate Greentrepreneur who is involved in the Sustainable Packaging business for the manufacturing of Biodegradable & Compostable packaging products made from Agriculture-biomass plant waste materials. A Biotechnology invention with global international awards.
His extensive industry knowledge in the Biomass Material Engineering, especially in the Cellulose Fiber materials, has made his passion into reality to mitigate climate change impact by eliminating the open-burning of agriculture-waste materials in Malaysia and value-add them into Sustainable Packaging products for the global markets to replace Single-Use-Plastics, yet, creating life to rice farmers in Malaysia with additional income from their agriculture waste.

Tan Sri Dr. Salleh Mohd Nor
Board Member
respected conservationist and academician, Dr. Salleh has played a major role in the protection of the Malaysian environment and the conservation of nature and natural resources, particularly in his position as the First Director-General of the Forest Institute of Malaysia (FRIM) and the President of the Malaysian Nature Society.
A Merdeka Award recipient and one of the 50 “Heroes of Malaysia” award winners, Dr. Salleh received his Ph.D. and Masters Degree from Michigan State University.
